RegisterProf. Joy Ogwu is a former Foreign Minister of Nigeria and a former Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the United Nations in New York 2008–2017. She is the first woman to hold the post of Permanent Representative, to the United Nations in the history of Nigeria. Prior to her ministerial career, served as Director–General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA).
Ogwu has advised the United Nations on disarmament issues and has published books promoting more African ties to Latin America. She is the former Chair of the Board of Trustees of the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR).
She was appointed Foreign Minister by Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo on August 30, 2006.
In 2008, Ogwu became the Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN in New York. Ogwu was the President of the UN Security Council in July 2010 and in October 2011. She was the former President of the Executive Board of the UN Women Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.
As a woman in a foremost position in her distinguished career specialization, Ogwu has become a voice for women’s development and human rights. In this subject, her perspective spans Asia Pacific, Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa with prolific publications on regional aspects of the subject. Her participation in the government under the auspices of NIIA and the Presidential Advisory Council on International Relations enabled positive contribution, to practical government policy such as the construct of the Nigeria-South America relationship, on a macro level and the United Nations Educational Social and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) funded program for teaching human rights in Nigerian Schools on a micro level.
Furthermore, her continual role on the Nigerian National Delegation to UN General Assembly exhibits her contribution as an influential figure in the formation of Nigeria’s relationship with the rest of the world.
Jibril has over 30 years experience in banking with 17 at senior management levels. He previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ecobank Nigeria. He had previously worked for 16 years with Citibank Nigeria and was Executive Director Afribank Nigeria Plc between June 2003 and December 2005 His banking career included key positions in Capital markets, Foreign Exchange, Treasury Management, Operations and Technology. He has served on board of reputable companies such as Africa Finance Corporation, Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System and the Financial Markets Dealers Quotation, where he is currently the Vice Chairman. He holds a BSc., Masters, and a honorary Doctor of Science Degrees in Business Administration.
Professor CHUKWU, Lucian Obinna is currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Management Services) immediate past Director Academic Planning Unit (Office of the Vice Chancellor), and has at various times served as Director, Quality Assurance and SERVICOM Unit (Office of the Vice Chancellor), Member, Governing Council, Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies and Head, Department of Marine Sciences, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos Nigeria. He has been teaching at the University of Lagos for over thirty years and has supervised 14 Ph.D’s among whom two are now Professors.
He has participated and served as resource person in several national and international conferences, workshops and training programmes in Europe, North America, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia. He belongs to several professional associations and is a Fellow of Nigerian Environmental Society (FNES) and Fellow of West African Society of Toxicology (FWASOT). He is happily married with children.

Emmanuel Ikazaboh (FCA, MBA, DBA) has more than 25 years’ experience in Senior Management roles in Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon and South Africa. Previously, he was the Managing Partner for Francophone offices in Côte d’Ivoire and Cameroon and later became the Managing Partner/CEO of Deloitte West and Central Africa, until 2009. He was appointed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an Interim Administrator, to carry out capital market reforms of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Central Securities Clearing System Plc. (CSCS).
Solomon Ehigiator Arase (NPM, fdc, Former Inspector General of Police) born June 21, 1956 is a retired Nigerian police officer who served as the 18th Inspector-General of Nigerian Police (IGP). He was appointed IGP in 2015 by President Goodluck Jonathan. Before his appointment as IGP, Arase was head of the topmost intelligence gathering unit of the Nigerian police, the Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau.
Dr. Ejike Eze is a Linguistics scholar, community leader and social activist who has studied and taught at various higher institutions across the globe. His academic accomplishments include a first-class honors degree and a master’s degree from University of Lagos, a Master of Philosophy degree from the University of Cambridge, England, and a doctoral degree from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
After a brief stint as a university professor, Dr. Eze ventured into corporate America, where he has held several leadership positions at such corporations as KPMG, Bearingpoint and Arbella Insurance Group. He currently serves as CEO of Emerald Consulting Group, a Boston-based management consulting firm. He also sits on the board of numerous religious, academic, and community organizations.
